About the Recipe

Store-bought moisturizers and serums often contain preservatives, silicones, synthetic fragrances, and fillers that can clog pores, irritate sensitive skin, and disrupt your skin’s natural balance. Facial oils are a simple, effective way to nourish your skin with pure, plant-based ingredients—no harsh chemicals required.

When formulated properly, facial oils can actually help regulate oil production and bring your skin back into balance. This lightweight serum is designed to support oily and combination skin—helping reduce excess shine, calm congestion, and promote a clearer, more even complexion.

Ingredients

  • 1 oz glass dropper bottle

  • 4.5 tsp jojoba oil

(closely mimics the skin's natural sebum, oil control)

  • 1.5 tsp castor oil

    (deeply cleansing, balancing)

  • 5 drops tea tree essential oil

    (antibacterial and anti-inflammatory)

  • 3 drops frankincense essential oil

    (supports skin regeneration and elasticity)

Preparation

Step 1

In a 1 ounce glass jar, fill with 25% castor oil and 75% jojoba oil, leaving room for essential oils and shaking to mix.

Step 2

Add essential oils.

Step 3

Shake gently to combine

Step 4

Apply to clean, damp skin morning and night.

Pro Tips

Make it last longer – Add 5–10 drops of vitamin E oil to your blend. Vitamin E acts as a natural preservative and provides antioxidant benefits that support skin repair and protect from environmental damage.

Massage it in – Spend a minute gently massaging the oil into your skin to stimulate circulation and boost absorption.

Test and tweak – Everyone’s skin is different! If your skin feels too oily or not hydrated enough, adjust the ratios by adding more of the base oil (jojoba or sweet almond) or reducing the castor oil.
