About the Recipe
Conventional face washes often rely on harsh surfactants, synthetic fragrances, and preservatives that strip the skin of its natural oils—leaving dry skin even drier. This DIY face wash is carefully crafted to cleanse while supporting your skin's moisture barrier with soothing, nourishing, and hydrating ingredients.
Formulated for oily and combination skin, this cleanser gently removes excess oil, buildup, and impurities without over-drying. By keeping your skin balanced—not stripped—it helps reduce excess shine, minimize congestion, and support a clearer, more even complexion.

Ingredients
2 or 4 oz glass bottle with pump
2 tablespoons distilled water
(hydration without bacteria growth)
2 teaspoons liquid castile soap
(gentle, non-toxic cleanser)
1 teaspoon jojoba oil
(closely mimics the skin's natural sebum, oil control)
1 teaspoon vegetable glycerin
(draws moisture into the skin)
1 teaspoon raw honey
(naturally antibacterial and ultra-hydrating)
1 teaspoon apple cider vinegar
(balances pH and gently exfoliates)
1/4 teaspoon vitamin E oil (antioxidant and natural preservative)
1/4 teaspoon xanthan gum
(gives a light gel-like texture)
5 drops tea tree essential oil (antibacterial and anti-inflammatory)
Preparation
Step 1
In a small bowl, combine xanthan gum with vegetable glycerin, stirring until it forms a smooth, lump-free gel.
Step 2
In a separate bowl, mix warm distilled water, castile soap, sweet almond oil, honey, apple cider vinegar, and vitamin E oil.
Step 3
Slowly add the xanthan gum and glycerin mixture into the liquid mixture, whisking until fully incorporated.
Step 4
Add the lavender essential oil and stir to combine.
Step 5
Transfer to a 2 or 4 oz pump bottle or glass dispenser.
Step 6
Shake gently before each use.
